Greece: Indebted Health

In 2010, Greece faced an accelerated economic downturn and, under the fear of bankruptcy, the government requested financial assistance from the euro-area Member States and the IMF. The assistance was approved, and Greece signed an IMF/EU/ECB MoU. Under the provisions of the MoU, and creditors’ pressure for rapid changes, the government introduced a number of health reforms.
